ReplyDeleteSir , In the Mahabharata translated by sri Sundara chaitanyanada swamy (into Telugu) which is based on veda vyasa's version,it is mentioned that Parasurama's curse includes both for Bhargavashtra and Brahmastra as well, so the only deadly weapon that Karna used was sarpa mukha astra(Naga astra).
ReplyDelete02. It is mentioned in the same book that Dronacharya was the first guru of Karna ,and only for acquiring Brahmastra he went to serve Parasurama in the guise of a Brahmin.There is no mention about surya as Guru of Karna.

ReplyDeleteFrom what I know, Sarpa astra or Naga astra was used on the 16th day. I got the details about 17th day seeing Parashuramastra or Bhargava (his other name) astra from Dr. HV Narasimha Murthy's research.
Thanks for noting about Surya. I added Surya only after seeing answers of many people, explaining Surya and Parashurama conversation. More details would be appreciated!
